We raise Californian-New Zealand meat rabbits here on the homestead, and although they are cute and cuddly they are not considered pets. My wife raised pet rabbits as a kid and wanted to have a group of bunnies that were not destined for the table.
She, and my also non-rabbit eating niece, found these fuzzy things, and will be spending time trying to figure out how to breed more cuteness into them. I have a strict motto that if it doesn’t provide a return for the homestead then it can’t come here. As it were, happiness for the women folk is indeed a valuable commodity. Hey, at least their poop is worth something.
